As Americans fathom their own nation's doomsday, one man in American politics has the clout to ease the people's fears. His name is Bernard Sanders, and last night he stopped by "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" to let America know his next steps. Asked about the worst and best case scenarios of the impending Donald Trump presidency, here's what Senator Sanders had to say:
"The best case scenario is that Trump is not an ideologue ... The good news is, when millions of people say to him, 'Mr. Trump, let's move in that direction,' he may actually hear those things."
When pressed to explain the worst case scenario, Sanders kept it all the way one hunnid, letting people know that the Trump presidency might resemble a Trump dictatorship:
"The worst case is if not Trump himself, but people around Trump, say, 'We've got the House, the Senate, we've got the White House, we're going to have the Supreme Court: we're going to change the rules of the game so that we don't lose the game anymore.'"
