It's been clear that Nef The Pharaoh was a big fan of Cash Money's early years since his breakthrough hit "Big Tymin'," which paid tribute to the Hot Boys and the Big Tymers. The Bay Area rapper has since released a few projects worth of catchy Bay Area rap, transcending the nostalgia of his single, but he still has a place in his heart for New Orleans rap, and his new single unites him with one of the most important rappers from the region Juvenile.
Juvie was something of an idol for Nef growing up, who tells Billboard he spent his childhood listening to Cash Money with his parents. "I was just a little dude with a camo bandana around my neck because I loved Juvenile," he said, so "Put You On," the new single from his upcoming project, is a big moment for him. Like "Big Tymin'," the single finds the mid-point between the Bay Area and New Orleans, Nef and Juvi sounding perfectly comfortable, despite the distance in both geography and age.
