Lil Wayne's dismissal of the Black Lives Matter movement in a clip from his "Nightline" interview has been getting plenty of attention. The full interview is now available to watch.
When asked about Black Lives Matter, Wayne responded, "What is it? What do you mean? That just sounds weird. I don’t know, that you put a name on it…It’s not a name, it’s not, ‘whatever whatever.’ It’s somebody got shot by a policeman for a fucked up reason.”
Elsewhere in the interview, he pulls out a red flag from his pocket and proclaims, "I'm connected to this motherfucking flag. I'm a gang banger, man. I'm connected."
Host Lindsey Davis said that the interview ended "angrily." Wayne removed his mic and said, ""I ain't no motherfucking politician."
