Rockie Fresh has been a reliable force in MMG as of late. Last week, he dropped off a new record, "Pray 4 Me," and he had four of his tracks land on MMG's new Priorities 5 compilation tape. He's now given one of those songs, "Still Watching," a brand new music video. This is an especially good starting place for those new to Rockie, as the song is an impressive showcase of his relaxed but relentless delivery. He so effortlessly keeps pace with the '80s-indebted cinematic trap production, coming from Zale and Gonek, that one might miss just how clever all the lyrics are.
In the "Still Watching" video, Rockie befriends a horse, a popular choice of pet for rappers these days, but this visual is less regal than one might expect, as the horse stays in an urban stable in close proximity to the renowned Harold's Chicken Shack in Rockie's hometown of Chicago.
Rockie steadily empties white bottles of Luc Belaire as he cruises around his city. Ross, a Black Bottle Boy, won't be too displeased, especially as the 25-year-old Chicagoan is spitting harder than just about everyone in MMG right now -- and that's no shot at the label.
