Though still young in age (and spirit), The Outfit TX stand today as veterans of the Dallas scene, which they've played a vital role in shaping. It wasn't until this summer, though, with their Green Lights: Everythang Goin mixtape, that they began to receive their due nationwide exposure. The tape was only the beginning, as the trio has begun to provide visual counterparts to some of the best Green Lights tracks. Each of the videos -- "Type Shit," "Look Into My Eyes," and "Visions of Grandeur" -- have been crucial to understanding The Outfit's aesthetic. Their latest visual, to the track "What I Like," takes the group's deep Texas swag outta Dallas and into Cali, where they headlined an outrageously lit warehouse party (footage to come soon).
The trio's style is nicely situated underneath the palm trees and hazy Cali sunshine. Viewers are also taken into their local abode, which comes equipped with a bad-as-hell housekeeper. Produced by the criminally unsung Dallas duo of Stunt N Dozier (behind most of Green Lights), "What I Like" is a sinister late-night jam with a smooth hook and simmering off-the-cuff verses. There's nothing sweet about this sound, but the arrangement is so clean, one can't help but feel a hint of romance.
