New York Yankees closer, Aroldis Chapman tied his MLB-record for the fastest pitch ever with a 105.1 MPH heater last night against the Baltimore Orioles. No, it wasn't a strike but don't act like you're not impressed.
The 105.1 mph fastball was the fastest pitch recorded since he clocked in at 105.1 back in 2010 as a member of the Cincinnati Reds.
The batter, J.J Hardy, saw plenty of heat from Chapman during his at bat in the 9th, including two 100 mph pitches, a 103 mph fastball and a 104 mph missile just before the record-breaking pitch.
Hardy ultimately popped out and Chapman went on to pick up his 19th save of the season for the Yanks.
