It's been six days since the last new Curren$y track, "Good Cop, Bad Cop." That's about as long of a hiatus as Spitta has taken all year. He returns today with a new song and video, "Pirates," which will appear on his next mixtape, Weed & Instrumentals 2, the sequel to the 17-track tape he put out in March. When it arrives, Weed & Instrumentals 2, will be his eighth project of 2016. But who's counting...
"Pirates" is a triumphant, trunk-rattling banger from the uncompromising NOLA warrior. The resounding production comes from a member of MMG. Whoever it is really dropped a winner. Curren$y lays down particularly sharp raps about "royals neglectin' the throne" and "ballin' with the hunger of a starving artist." What he's doing this year is historic, and going off "Pirates," Weed & Instrumentals 2 should be another blessing.
