Get to know East Oakland's Kamaiyah with her new "A Good Night in the Ghetto" documentary, an accompaniment to her excellent debut mixtape.

Toward the end of May, Oakland rapper Kamaiyah received a major boost in exposure when she was heard on the hook of YG's Still Brazy single "Why You Always Hatin," which also features Drake. A couple of months before that, though, she released A Good Night in the Ghetto, her debut project -- one that many outlets consider to be among the best work of the year (it ranked No. 17 on HNHH's recent list of the top 20 projects thus far into 2016). Kamaiyah is now the star of a new documentary that takes the same title as her debut mixtape. The nearly 17-minute video gives a behind-the-scenes look at her sudden rise in the rap game, and it also explores her East Oakland stomping grounds. There are cameos from familiar faces like YG, DJ Mustard, and Kehlani.
