AD and YG drop the video to "Thug," which had been threatened by a gang shooting when it was filmed in May.

In May, Compton's AD enlisted Bompton's YG for a ruthless street single, "Thug," produced by Sorry Jaynari of the League of Starz. A month later, the song would land on AD and Jaynari's joint tape, By the Way, which arrived before YG's Still Brazy, on which AD also appeared -- on the track "Don't Come to LA." Both projects are situated within Compton, a town that's producing some of the country's most compelling gangsta rap.

Compton is the site of the new "Thug" video, which was shot right after the single's release. The shoot was interrupted by an actual shooting, which police believed to have been gang-related. They found AK-47 shells on the scene, and fortunately, no one was hurt and no arrests were made. The "Thug" video begins with a recording of a radio broadcast reporting on the shooting, and viewers are then transported to AD's block, where YG, donning a bulletproof vest, is welcomed despite his opposing gang affiliation. It's a strong show of thug love from two rappers representing different cliques but, ultimately, the same city.
