As you may have already seen, we had ScHoolboy Q stop by the office during a recent press run in NYC, in support of his new album Blank Face LP (duh), which is out now. Our 45-minute conversation with the rapper resulted in this dope little feature, however we also set aside some portions for a video piece, because we know about the whole TL;DR movement.
In this short clip from our interview, ScHoolboy Q focuses on his new album. Groovy Tony speaks about the dark feeling and aesthetic that comes with Blank Face LP, and the reasoning behind that (although he says he's always had a penchant for darkness). The rapper goes on to discuss the idea of a short film or interlinking music videos for every song off the album, as well as the vibe of the studio sessions for Blank Face LP. He tells us, "I recorded really by myself, with my dogs and shit, Big Groove was there." (FYI he is literally referring to dogs, not 'homies'). He went on to add that Kendrick Lamar came through towards the end of the album's creation.
Watch the piece above. Don't mind Q, he's high as fuck.
