Kehlani is no stranger to severe depression. A couple month ago, the Bay Area singer was hospitalized after attempting to take her own life following some boy drama & miscommunication on social media. Thankfully, she has since fully recovered, and is now currently out on the road visiting various cities across the country for some live performances.
Well during a recent stop, Kehlani decided to put the show on hold for a couple minutes and deliver a powerful speech about living with mental illness, and the responsibility we all share in helping those closest to us.
"[Suicide] is something that so many young people are dealing with," Kehlani said. "And so many young people slip under the rug. Please don't try it. Don't do it." Then, referencing her own suicide attempt, the singer revealed, "It wasn't a first time thing, and that's not okay...for anyone. Not for the people around you, not for the people that love you, not the people that care about you."
Check out the powerful and true statement above. See Kehlani’s tour dates here if you wish to see her live.
