The White House Correspondents’ Dinner is a chance for the president to show off is comedic chops. And so, stepping to the Correspondents' Dinner stage for the final time on Saturday night, Barack Obama spent a full half hour sending wisecracks at the expense of Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, Donald Trump, the media, and even his own wife. He completed the speech with a textbook mic drop. Here are a couple choice quotes from the proceedings"
"If this material works well, I'm gonna use it at Goldman Sachs next year. Earn me some serious Tubmans."
"Next year at this time, someone else will be standing in this very spot, and it's anyone guess who she will be."
[Pn Ted Cruz] "He went to Indiana - Hoosier country - stood on a basketball court, and called the hoop a 'basketball ring.' What else is in his lexicon? Baseball sticks? Football hats? But sure, I'm the foreign one. . . . "
Of course, Obama's speech was just a warm-up for the keynote speaker, Larry Wilmore, who spent 23 minutes ruthlessly burning as many people as humanly possible. Watch Wilmore's full speech here, Obama's full speech above, and a condensed version of Obama's speech below.
