Anderson .Paak is up.
Last year, the 30-year-old singer was a struggling singer who attended Coachella as a fan. Then he scored an appearance on Dr. Dre's and Compton and released AOTY contender Malibu. This year, you'd be hard-pressed to find a festival .Paak and The Free Nationals are NOT performing at.
In a new mini-documentary "All in a Day's Work," named for one of .Paak's song on Compton, follows him as he prepares for his Coachella set. The doc sheds light on .Paak and Dre's chemistry.
"The people I like to work with, you know their voice from the first syllable," Dre said.
Said .Paak: “It’s fun to work with a producer that is versatile and has a great ear and knows how to get great vocal performances out of you. I can hear it, it’s like night and day when I work with him on a song and when I work by myself. And after I was done working with Dre, I had a different approach of how I went into the studio. It was just more tenacity."
