Sylvan LaCue Feat. Linzi Jai "Loner" Video

Sylvan Lacue has been one of our favorite up-and-coming artists for a minute now, and it seems that people are finally starting to catch up. The rapper formerly known as Quest's new project, Far From Familiar, has been earning him a fair amount of hype, and it's deserved, as it's probably his most assured effort yet. Today, he's shared a video for the impressive opening track, "Loner," which is reminiscent of early Kid Cudi not only in title, but vocally in Linzi Jai's memorable hook. At the same time, it has some stacked harmonies reminiscent of Kanye West's My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. Seeing that Cudi has done some of his best work over Ye production, it's certainly a good place to start, and Lacue distinguishes himself from the influences present on the song with his very distinct rapping cadence, delivering his verse against some beautiful landscapes as he reflects on a past relationship.
