By the looks of it, Tink is about to have a massive year, and that's just based on the quality of the two singles she's released this month. She has now dropped the video to the first of those, "Circle the Block," which finds the Chicago artist, who turned 21 today, channeling her hometown's dark and gritty drill sound. On the raps, though, she's not spitting a barrage of gruff-voiced, off-the-cuff punchlines; instead, she keeps the raps quick, biting, and relentless, with an eye for detail that's reminiscent of someone like G Herbo.
The video begins with a hype-up intro from her mentor Timbaland, and then Tink proceeds to post up and "Circle the Block," having too much fun for all the murderous raps coming out of her mouth. Tink's most recent single, "Home," showed off a completely different side of her artistry, via a smooth but uptempo R&B jam that couldn't possibly be more charming. And she can DANCE?! Look out for one of the most versatile young talents in the game.
