Montana of 300 has shared his brand new single with an accompanying music video. "Land of the Dark" is a fitting entry point into Montana's upcoming album, Fire in the Church, which is set to arrive on May 6.
The video indeed takes viewers to the "Land of the Dark," as Montana is the only non-masked figure in an underground lair that's lit up with a gruesome red light (shout-out to A Zae, one of the most prolific video artists in rap right now). Montana begins the record with an uncharacteristically melodic hook. His impassioned singing is immediately immersive, and it gives a little taste of the spiritual quality that's likely to be explored further on the album.
He ends up injecting spontaneous bursts of harmonized mini-hooks into his typically ruthless raps, making for a well-rounded single that shows off many sides of Montana's promising artistry.
