Former NBA player Stephen Jackson thinks highly of his former team.

File this one under “delusions of grandeur.” Former NBA player Stephen Jackson appeared on ESPN’s new show “The Jump” today alongside former Grantland basketball writer Zach Lowe, and they spoke on a number of topics. However, as soon as the Golden State Warriors came up in the discussion, Jackson blurted “my Warriors team would beat today’s Warrior’s team.” It’s as if he had been waiting on that moment for the entire show, or possibly longer.

A quick refresher, Stephen Jackson’s Warriors team was the “We Believe” squad that topple the #1 seed during the 2006-07 playoffs. It was undoubtedly a spectacular moment, but this season’s Warriors are on pace to be the greatest regular season basketball team of all time. It’s a ridiculous notion at best, but maybe Stephen Jackson is still trying to do anything he can do distance himself from the time he went into the stands and fought fans during 2004’s Malice in the Palace incident.

Either way, his statements wouldn’t even make sense after six straight dabs.
