Baka, aka Baka Not Nice, who has earned himself the reputation of Drake's "top goon," is out of jail and working hard in the studio. He's found a go-to producer in young Murda Beatz, the Canadian trapper who came to fame alongside Migos, and the pair have linked up for a new track, "Whip," that arrives with an accompanying video directed by Niko of OVO.
The video finds Baka and Murda turning up in the 6, and it's clear Baka brings a rare, inflamed energy to his hometown sound. He rattles off a steady slew of sharp and compact punchlines, made tougher by his Caribbean-tinged inflections. "Whip" arrives a few weeks after another collab between Baka and Murda, "AKA," was played on OVO Sound Radio.
