ESPN's "First Take" recently got a revamped theme song courtesy of Wale, and now the network's pre-game show "NBA Countdown" has called upon two of hip-hop's elite, DJ Premier and Royce da 5'9", aka PRhyme, to create its opening music. The new song is called "Rockin' with the Best," and you can listen to it in a new video clip that will presumably be NBA Countdown's opening sequence from here on out.
"The title describes us and it describes the competition that goes along with basketball," Premier told ESPN of "Rockin with the Best." Royce expressed similar enthusiasm about the collaboration: "Being recognized for our talents and having the opportunity to work with ESPN and the NBA is next level. You forget the magnitude of your work until your father calls you and says he just heard you on ESPN; that's when it really hits you!"
The clip is just 1:00 long, so hopefully we'll get the full song some time soon. In the meantime, how's it sounding on NBA Countdown?
