The NPR Tiny Desk Concert usually sticks to indie rock acts and that ilk, but they are increasingly veering into the world of hip hop. 2014 spawned T-Pain's legendary Tiny Desk concert, 2015 brought The Internet to the NPR "stage," and the top of 2016 has Rapsody (aka your favorite rapper's favorite female rapper) performing a trio of songs from her Beauty and The Beast EP -- "Godzilla," "The Man" and "Hard To Choose."
Backed by a skilled instrumental crew known as The Storm Troopers -- sax, bass, keys, and 9th Wonder (!) on the MPC -- Rapsody can do no wrong. Rapsody and 9th Wonder both hail from North Carolina and have collaborated multiple times to date. Always good to see 9th Wonder around.
