Charlotte, NC "cult rap" emcee Deniro Farrar hasn't released much new music since his June EP Cliff of Death 2, and now, strangely enough, he has shared a new video to a song that he dropped over two and a half years ago. "Separate," Farrar's Ryan Hemsworth-produced collab with Michigan R&B singer JMSN, appeared on his 2013 mixtape The Patriarch II. In fact, he already released a video to the track shortly after the tape's release, which, it seems, has been taken down in favor of the new visual.
In any case, the new "Separate" video is reason enough to revisit a well-crafted collaboration, and Farrar's voice sounds as pertinent as ever. He raps bloody-mouthed as he's held up in an empty parking garage while he and a loved one kneel at gunpoint. It's harrowing stuff and hopefully signals that Farrar has new music ready for 2016.
