Along with the return of Santigold, M.I.A. is on her way back into the music scene. She recently dropped the audio for a new single, "Borders," and today she follows that up with the Apple Music premiere of the song's music video.
The record has an incessantly catchy hook, which could propel it to "Planes" status. We'll have to see how it takes off. Behind all the catchiness though, there's a message. For the visual, M.I.A. makes a socio-political statement, with hoards of refugees climbing up fences and trailing behind her on a boat, as M.I.A. walks on water.
Watch the impactful music video above. The song will live on her upcoming album Matahdatah.
