Watch incredible footage of DMX and Rakim meeting each other for the first time.

DMX just might be the most energized man on the planet. Usually, in the music (and elsewhere), that energy translates into rage, but oh how good is it to see the Yonkers emcee genuinely full of excitement. Street Heat TV has recently released a video of DMX meeting one of his idols, Rakim, for the first time, and the interaction that ensues between the two N.Y. rap heroes is priceless.

"Growing up there was always a conflict on who was the best rapper, it was between Big Daddy Kane and Rakim. I always went with Rakim, always. Brother was serious, he didn’t compromise his lyrics, went hard, and didn't even curse. That's the shit that was like, 'Wow, this n***a spittin' some gangsta s**t and didn't even curse!'" X tells the camera, overcome with emotion. Rakim then bestowed similar praise upon DMX.

DMX was so amped, in fact, that he suddenly begins rapping extended verses from "Microphone Fiend" as well as "Follow the Leader," two Rakim classics. The video ends with footage of DMX bringing Rakim out on stage at a concert, exhibiting similar enthusiasm. The recording was apparently taken in 2013, shortly after X and Rakim had actually appeared on a track together
