Joey Bada$$ has been busy touring for his "World Domination" world tour, and while he stopped over in DC, our host Baker caught up with him. Since dropping his debut album, B4.DA.$$, the rapper has been giving out select features, mainly to his peoples like Kirk Knight, Static Selektah, Nyck Caution, among others. However the other week we received a super-dope, unexpected collaboration Joey did with Glass Animals, "Lose Control."
Joey tells Baker of the record, "So we linked up in the studio..Briefly, before that, we kinda both ran into each other in cyber space and we realized we was both fans of each other, so we thought it was right to hop in the studio. One time they was in New York, I was in New York, we linked up and the chemistry was just there right away. That played that joint, the beat that we did, that was the first song they played when I came in, like I walked in on that. I was like, alright, this is it. It was a really dope experience working with them, and they took the record to the next level from where we left off. I'm really proud of that record."
Joey Bada$$, known for his old school boom-bap style, recently posed for a pic with Metro Boomin, leading us to speculate about what a possible collaboration would sound like between the two (likely 🔥). Joey wouldn't say much about it, he just told us: "With me don't ever expect anything, you never gon' get what you looking for."
For those wanting a follow-up to his debut, Joey confirms towards the end of the interview that following his tour he'll be getting back in the studio to work on that new-new. "I'ma go ghost for a little minute. We gon' go create somewhere abroad, in a little batcave, with all my producers," he says.
