Machine Gun Kelly released his new album, General Admission, on Friday of last week. Despite the album's rather quiet release, it's actually looking to sell around 45-50k opening week. To help promote it even more, MGK sat down with the folks at HOT 97, aka Ebro, Peter Rosenberg and Laura Stylez.
The interview is quite informative, as MGK discusses taking time off to work on General Admission, and how he doesn't plan to take that much time off (three years) again. He also talks about bringing an element of rock/punk to his live shows, and how that's become on trend in rap these days (but no shots are really thrown, except for at the BET Hip-Hop Awards).
Towards the end of the interview, MGK discusses his seemingly mutual break-up with Amber Rose, and a tweet he sent out about Eminem's daughter back when he was 21 years old, and how that's still (kinda) affecting him today (around 35 min mark). "Certain people took it and ran with it...Bruh, certain people won't even listen or review this joint. Certain places you won't even hear Machine Gun Kelly on, certain things won't even happen," MGK said, basically because of that tweet. "A friend of mine said it best, why do you care, you already came into the industry blackballed."
