Donald Glover, aka the rapper known as Childish Gambino -- an alias that he hinted might be nearing its end -- is a busy man. His new TV series, in which he stars, writes, and executive produces, will make its debut in September on FX, and he's also been tapped for roles in upcoming blockbuster films like "Magic Mike XXL" and "Spider-Man: Homecoming." He still hasn't provided any notice as to when he next plans to drop new music, but today, he made an extremely rare appearance on Twitter to hint that something special is on the horizon.
With his username still written as Childish Gambino, Glover tweeted a link to an app called Pharos, which can now be downloaded on iPhone as well as Android. Once downloaded, the app doesn't look like much, as it simply leads to a background image of a starry cosmos. At the bottom of the screen, however, one can see some sort of a countdown, with the word "approaching" written above a 15-digit number. Whenever that number slows down to show all zeros, the app will presumably unveil a surprise.
Pigeons & Planes captured a couple of screenshots upon opening the app, which you can see in the above gallery.
