The Weeknd scored his own Apple Music commercial a couple weeks ago, now Flying Lotus gets one too.
Starring in an Apple commercial would usually signify a marker of success. But for Flying Lotus, that is not necessarily the case (can't blame him though for getting that Apple money). His music is experimental, inventive, thought-provoking, trippy, uncomfortable. Frankly, this video is none of these things, except for maybe uncomfortable. It sanitizes Fly Lo, scrubs him of everything that makes him unique. It presents him as "edgy" in the way Afrojack is edgy.
Should have just gone with one of his signature light shows... but that's just one opinion. Share your thoughts in the comments.
