Revisiting his debut album Turn The Lights On, Rico Love decides to come through today and share the official video for “Happy Birthday.”
Taking over a suburbia home, Rico parties it up with some sexy eye candy, performs in the driveway, and provides tons of cake and balloons in this birthday party-inspired video above. Directed by Parris Stewart, the video eventually turns into an infomercial that plays along with Love’s “Days Go By” record.
“This video is one of my favorites because it shows a lighter side of me,” says Love. “I was paying homage to the sound that I grew up admiring from Puff and Pharrell. Back when people danced in clubs and didn’t just stand on couches and take pictures. It was also consistent to the theme of my album. Pay attention to the ending and see how it all ties in.”
