Future Provides Track-By-Track Commentary On "DS2" (Part 1)

Future's DS2 is still playing just about everywhere, and as inescapable as the music itself has been, we haven't heard all too much about how it was made. Thankfully, Future Hendrix has now provided some audio commentary for the project through VEVO. The first part of the feature only covers the first three tracks, but we're already learning a lot.

The main takeaway from the rapper's explanations is that most of the vocals were recorded in freestyle-like bursts, and arranged later. For instance "I Serve The Base" only became the song's hook in the editing process. As future describes it, he, DJ Esco, and and Metro Boomin all contributed to the "unconventional" process of arranging vocals.
