Future came out to NYC yesterday to perform at The Highline Ballroom as a part of his 4-stop "Salute The Fans" DS2 Tour. He found time to stop by the Hot 97 offices for an appearance on The Funkmaster Flex Show.
Fielding questions from Funk Flex, Future spoke on his experiences growing up poor in Atlanta, living in his grandma's 3-bedroom house with over a dozen people. He explained his change in mentality that allowed him to avoid falling into familiar pitfalls of his environment.
"I thought broader, I though outside my horizons," he told Flex. "You gotta think outside the box. When you trapped in the trap, you really mentally trapped in the trap.
"I fight statistics. I expect the unexpected, that's how I live my life."
