Talk about a momentum killer. After scoring a cover story from The Fader and dropping a video in preparation for the launch of their SremmLife 2 album next week, their album has been delayed. And not just by a couple of weeks – their sophomore effort will now be releasing on August 12.
This is a huge bummer for everyone who was looking forward to having Rae Sremmurd soundtrack their summer escapades. It is unclear what caused the surprising delay, but our bet is it has to do with a surprise feature or sample clearance issue. Hopefully someone from their camp clears things up in the meantime.
The album will feature Juicy J, Lil Jon and the rising Kodak Black, among others. Just last week they appeared on a Peewee Longway joint, and their “Look Alive” video dropped on Monday. If you haven't already, now's your chance to pre-order the album on iTunes.
