Although other regions have seemed to dominate the conversation for at least a decade, NYC's rap scene has looked up in the past couple years, seeing promising indie upstarts take some of the market share from the scene's bloated pillars of old. Among those artists are Action Bronson, Flatbush Zombies, The Underachievers and Le1f, all of whom were chosen by Robert Lopuski (director of the Watch The Throne doc) to be profiled in a new short documentary on NYC's modern-day scene.
The artfully-shot, behind-the-scenes video intersperses clips of each artist talking about their grind and come-up with shots of nature and NYC itself. At just nine and a half minutes in length, this is well worth your time.
