According to the New York Daily News, a Brooklyn-based Commanding Officer of the NYPD is being audited by his department for allegedly threatening the life of rapper/entrepreneur 50 Cent. The report indicates that Commanding Officer Emanuel Gonzalez uttered the comment to his fellow men in uniform before attending a charity boxing event in the Bronx - the reason being: 50 Cent was himself rumored to be attending.

The threat was remarked by his comrades during a routine roll call taking place at the 72nd Precinct where Gonzalez is normally stationed. "The inspector just said that at roll call,” the source told the Daily News. "I’m like WTF." No one present during the one-sided exchange is said to be holding a playback recording of such.
And yet, the alleged threat is still being taken rather seriously. The New York Daily News says they contacted the NYPD who confirmed a "The incident is under internal review." TMZ got in touch with 50 Cent's reps who say the rapper and his camp are taking the issue with the same level of seriousness.
"Mr. Jackson takes this threat very seriously and is consulting with his legal counsel regarding his options going forward," 50 Cent's rep told TMZ. He is concerned that he was not previously advised of this threat by the NYPD and even more concerned that Gonzalez continues to carry a badge and a gun."
