"Bumpy's Lament" may be one of the most overused samples in hip hop history. We first heard the sped up guitar loop on Lil Kim's "Drugs", but it later showed up on Erykah Badu's "Bag Lady", and most famously on Dr. Dre's "Xxplosive". Berner lifted the sample once again on "Xanax and Patron", flipping it most similarly to Dre's take, and as a west coast rapper, most likely paying tribute to that record in particular.
Berner and B-Real team up for the track's video today, giving us a hazy black-and-white video that plays into both rappers' unabashed love of kush, with slow motion blunt smoke getting a starring role in the clip. Berner's Prohibition EP is available now.
