"A grand jury never indicts, a grand dragon's always wearin' his white." Those words, rapped by Crooked I on his new song "I Can't Breathe," will be all too familiar to many Americans by now. With the latter half of 2014 seeing the murders of Michael Brown, Eric Garner and Tamir Rice going unpunished (due to the cases' grand juries failure to indict the policemen responsible), the specter of the KKK (whose leaders are called "grand dragons") still lingers in the US.
On "I Can't Breathe," King Crooked unleashes some real talk that addresses all of the above murders. Hopefully things will change in 2015.
