Watch Fetty Wap as he details his come-up, from "Trap Queen" to signing a deal.

Fetty Wap got himself a healthy buzz last year thanks to the catchy love song "Trap Queen." If you haven't heard the song, remedy that right now.

Good. Since then, the Paterson, New Jersey native has signed an independent deal and developed a small but growing fanbase. Now's the perfect time to get familiar with Fetty, as he is most definitely on the come up. The rapper made a trip to our New York offices and gave us the low-down on where he's from, how "Trap Queen" came to fruition, singing a deal (he keeps his lips sealed as to who he signed with), and explains his crew. Fetty Wap also explains the origins of his rap name, revealing a strong appreciation of Gucci Mane (a rapper he also lists as a dream collabo).

Fetty Wap is about to drop a mixtape, any day now, so stay tuned for that.
