Yung Gleesh emerged on the scene this year with his brand of left-of-center D.C. rap, dropping anthems like "Gleechie," "skrong," and most of all, "Wasabi." Today, the wonky, indiscriminate homage to East Asian culture gets a suitably bonkers video.
Debating the pros and cons of Japanese and Chinese culture over a trippy beat, Gleechie says "Chinese food good but I want Japanese," hence the titular wasabi. A well-endowed Asian woman accompanies him to the restaurant of his choice, and proceeds to bust moves behind the rapper as he gesticulates wildly and pals around with his crew.
Look for Yung Gleesh to break out next year.
