Before she headlined a show at NYC's Highline Ballroom last night, Tinashe stopped by our office for a quick interview. Topics discussed include the breakout successes of "2 On" and Aquarius, her desire to work with Miguel and PARTYNEXTDOOR and her role in the creation of J. Lo's "I Luh Ya Papi."
The humble, ebullient singer talked about the crazy year she's had with wide-eyed wonder, seeming like she still can't believe the level of fame she's achieved. Talk then moved to her plans for the future, with her mind already set on crafting a follow-up to Aquarius with many of her previous co-collaborators, as well as the aforementioned singers.
As far as "I Luh Ya Papi" goes, Tinashe says that producer Detail brought it to her, and she did in fact have the "original" version of the track, but Ms. Lopez went on to make a different version for her album. Tinashe, however, was not credited for any contributions she may have made.
Be sure to catch Tinashe on her ongoing "Aquarius Tour."
