In a year that's also seen Joe Budden interpolate Kate Bush lyrics, Lil Bibby and Kevin Gates still probably have the strongest hip-hop track that references an '80s female pop/rock icon. Their track "We Are Strong," released back in July, samples Pat Benetar's "Love Is A Battlefield," and today it's gotten a video.
A fittingly dark, moody clip, the video shows Bibby and Gates (partners in gruff-voiced pathos) rapping in two locations: a dark, unadorned room and atop a pile of rubble outdoors. Skyscrapers tower above the wreckage, but the two real titans here are Bibby and Gates.
