This is pure old-school NYC: a cypheresque collection of verses over some gritty boom-bap, all held together with a Ron Browz hook, and a basketball court in the projects as a video setting. This is LL Cool J, Raekwon, Murda Mook and Browz's new video for "I'm Nice," and it's rather, well, nice.
Ostensibly taken from Cool J's upcoming album, G.O.A.T. 2, "I'm Nice" offers enough of an update on the early '90s sound that it is in no way stale, instead displaying the timeless sort of lyricism that is often lacking in modern hip-hop (for better or for worse).
Stay tuned for more details on G.O.A.T. 2.
