Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is psychiatric disorder defined by a lack of attention span and hyperactivity. Generally speaking, the diagnosis is considered controversial, an example of the medicalization of deviant behavior, or in other words, the turning of the previously non-medical issue of school performance into a medical one. A legitimate disorder or not, ADD has had a massive influence in hip-hop culture, serving as the inspiration behind everything from album titles to entire rhyme schemes.
