J. Cole and industry executive Steve Lobel chop it up.

Steve Lobel, a former industry heavyweight, interviews J. Cole today for Blurred Culture. During the first part of their interview, the two talk about how important it is to have a mentor, and Cole talks about how he idolized Jay Z and considers him a mentor. They also talk about Tupac's legacy, and how J. Cole's mom instilled a sense of confidence in the MC, J. Cole's new Dreamville record label and more. The convo cuts short just when Lobel asks Cole for his top 3 of all time-- guess we'll just have to wait for Part 2 to find out his picks.

Check out the first part above, and stay tuned for the second part.
