Vince Staples dicusses his new "Hell Can Wait" EP and working with Common on "Nobody's Smiling" in an exclusive interview with HNHH.

At just 21, Vince Staples has been in the rap game for almost five years, and it shows in his precocious wisdom. On October 7th, he'll drop the Hell Can Wait EP, but first, he visited the HNHH offices to offer some clues about the project and tell us how crazy it was working with Common on Nobody's Smiling.

Staples says the title "Hell Can Wait" was inspired by his mother, who was apparently fond of telling him that "hell wasn't gonna wait" for him when he was a child. The EP, Staples says, was made with him ignoring that time-sensitive bit of advice and taking his time.

Having been featured on a few track by Common earlier this year, Staples calls working with Common a "pivotal part of my career" and discusses what he learned from the Chicago veteran.
