DeJ Loaf talks about her origins in Detroit in our exclusive interview.

DeJ Loaf has received plenty of co-signs in a short period of time, after her song "Try Me" gained momentum, plus a remix from Wiz Khalifa. Drake was another rapper to show interest in the song/he may possibly have remixed it as well. Nonetheless we don't know much about the singer-rapper, who hails from Detroit. She seemed to really pop up out of nowhere.

Our host Damon Campbell caught up with DeJ in a Detroit studio recently, and dug up a lot of facts about the fast-rising artist. We find out about her childhood in Detroit (it sounds like she didn't have the easiest life), her family, and much more.

What are your thoughts on DeJ Loaf? If you haven't heard "Try Me" yet peep it here.
