This morning, Donald Glover (AKA Childish Gambino) paid a visit to Hot 97 to sit in for an interview and of course, drop a dope freestyle.
Peter Rosenberg cues up "Grindin' My Whole Life," gives Gambino a minute to collect his thoughts, and then it's off to the races. Mentioning hearing his song "3005" on the radio in his native Atlanta for the first time, visiting recent collaborator Fredo Santana in Chicago, his upcoming mixtape and SPIN magazine's less-than-friendly coverage of his music, Glover delivers a thrilling, very involved freestyle.
Most rappers (especially those without a background in battle rap) would have trouble going this long straight off the dome, but clearly for Mr. Glover, it's an everyday occurrence.
