Last week, Travi$ Scott hit us with his dope mixtape Days Before Rodeo, and today he visited Hot 97 to chat about his consistently rising career. Speaking with Ebro and Peter Rosenberg, the Houston rapper cleared up his label status and describes his music to the uninitiated.
Saying that he's signed to Epic under T.I. and Kanye, Scott goes on to describe his influences as "early stage" Kid Cudi and Sex Pistols frontman Sid Vicious. The hosts demanded to know if Mo City forebears like Slim Thug, Paul Wall and DJ Screw factor into his music, and Scott says while he respects those artists, he's trying to create a new H-town sound.
