Alex Wiley returns today with a video for another track from this summer's Village Party, "Splash Game (Self Doubt)." This clip has him traveling up to Toronto (a fairly short trip from Wiley's native Chicago), slapping a Maple Leafs hockey jersey on his back, and stunting alongside miniature, cartoon versions of himself.
The deceptively happy-sounding mixtape cut has Wiley grappling with some self confidence issues (as the title might suggest). But behind all of "Splash Game"'s off-kilter chimes, loopy trap percussion and the video's psychedelic effects, the lyrics become easy to miss. Alex Wiley may have some ups and downs in his life, but his music always comes out sounding life-affirming and playful.
