Lakewood, CA's A$ton Matthews has been making a name for himself with his brand of dark, menacing hip-hop, and no one song better illustrates that sound than his recent track "Lit." The track, which has gotten an official video today, was produced by Alviar and bears the sonic characteristics of trap in its most horror-influenced form.
With the song's instrumental comprising solely of a beat and very distant, discordant synths, Matthews has to carry much of the track on his own. He does this with some truly thrilling flow patterns, and (in the video at least), some occult-esque fire rituals.
