Yesterday, Vic Mensa was in NYC to celebrate an action-packed 21st birthday. First, he showed up to Damon Albarn's set at Governor's Ball to perform the Gorillaz's hit "Clint Eastwood" (video here), and then he headlined his own show at Manhattan's Webster Hall. Attendees of the latter show were rewarded with a surprise performance of a new song by Mensa, which you can now watch above, courtesy of VIBE.
Rapping about "money on my mind, weed on my breath" over a pitched-down vocal sample and a pretty trappy beat (that transitions to Que's "OG Bobby Johnson" at the very end), Mensa came through with quite a turn up anthem. We'll have to wait 'til we hear the studio version, which may pop up on his upcoming Street Lights EP, but this one sounds like it could be big.
