Nipsey Hussle has been showing us his business-minded side this past year, with endeavors like selling his Crenshaw mixtape for $100. The business man hasn't forgotten about his long-awaited Victory Lap project though, as we find out when we caught up with the West Coast native out in the East Coast for Hot 97's Summer Jam.
Ashlee Ray spoke to Nipsey backstage at the Beats Music press tent, and the rapper gave us the current status of Victory Lap and also hinted at what kind of sound you can expect from the mixtape-turned-album.
"I'm in record mode," Nipsey says since ending his "Crenshaw" tour. He promises a lot more details later on this year, and says that through the transition from mixtape to album the concept has stayed the same but the individual records have changed.
